TwitterDownloaderX

Responsible use

Last updated October 2026

Download only content you own or have permission to use. A saved file does not transfer any rights to you.

The basic rule

Every video, GIF, and photo on X belongs to whoever created it (or to whoever they licensed it to). Being able to see a public post does not mean you may copy, re-upload, or sell it. TwitterDownloaderX is a tool for keeping a personal copy of media you have the right to keep — nothing more.

Generally fine

  • Backing up videos, live replays, and photos that you posted yourself.
  • Saving a clip the creator explicitly allowed you to download or reuse.
  • Content released under an open licence, used according to that licence’s terms.
  • Short, attributed excerpts for commentary, criticism, news reporting, research, or teaching, where the law of your country allows it (for example “fair use” in the US or quotation exceptions elsewhere). These exceptions are narrow and depend on context; when in doubt, ask.

Not okay

  • Re-uploading someone else’s video as your own, or removing credit to the creator.
  • Using downloaded clips in ads, paid products, or monetized channels without a licence.
  • Redistributing films, TV, sports broadcasts, or music videos posted without the owner’s consent.
  • Harassing, doxxing, or impersonating the people shown in a video.
  • Trying to access private, protected, or deleted content — the tool does not support this.

How to ask for permission

A short, polite message usually works. Reply to the post or send a direct message saying who you are, which post you want to use, where it will appear, and how you’ll credit them. Keep the reply as your record. If the creator says no, respect that.

What the tool does to support this

  • Only public posts can be read; there is no login to X and no bypass of privacy settings.
  • No videos are stored or re-hosted by us — files stream from X to your device.
  • Specific posts can be blocked from extraction at the request of the rights holder.

If your content was downloaded without permission

See the copyright / DMCA policy for how to send a notice, or write to contact@twitterdownloaderx.com. You can also report infringing re-uploads directly to the platform where they appear. These guidelines are not legal advice; for a specific situation, consult a lawyer in your country.
