TwitterDownloaderX

Free X / Twitter video downloader

Download Twitter and X videos as MP4

TwitterDownloaderX is a free Twitter video downloader for public posts on X. Paste a tweet URL or a live broadcast link and save the original file as MP4 — regular clips, GIFs, still photos, and finished live replays — with no watermark and no sign-in. We only read media the official public embed can see, then you pick 1080p, 720p, or a lighter copy. Watch a live while it runs; when it ends, the replay becomes a downloadable MP4 if X still hosts it. Files are not stored on our servers. Download only what you have the right to keep.

How it works

No extension and no login. Copy a public X link, paste it above, then save the MP4 X already encoded.

  1. 1

    Copy the link on X

Open the tweet or live. Tap Share (or the three dots), then Copy link. Extra bits like ?s=20 are fine — we read the post id.

    Paste and extract

Drop the URL in the field on this page and press Extract. Public videos, GIFs, photos and lives are read the same way.

    Download the MP4

Choose 1080p, 720p or a lighter MP4. Or save just the soundtrack as MP3. Lives can be watched first; replay buttons appear when they end.

If Extract finds nothing, the post is private, deleted, or not public media. Open the same link logged out on X to check.

What you can save from X

One downloader for public tweet videos, live replays, GIFs, original photos, and MP3 audio pulled from the clip.

  • Tweet videos

Public MP4 from a status link, including quote-tweet clips when they are public.

  • Lives and replays

Watch a broadcast in progress. After it ends, save the replay in HD when X still serves it.

  • GIF clips

Animated tweet GIFs as MP4, the same file X already encoded.

  • Photos

Original stills from a public post, not the compressed timeline preview.

  • MP3 audio

Pull the soundtrack from a public video or finished live as an MP3, without the picture.

Twitter live download, after the stream ends

A live on X is not a normal tweet video. While it is running you can watch it here. When the host stops, TwitterDownloaderX looks up the replay and lists MP4-ready qualities (often 1080p, 720p, 360p, 240p). Long broadcasts take longer to save because the stream is remuxed into a single MP4. If the live was private, deleted, or never given a replay, there is nothing to download — same limit as the public page on X.

Pick the MP4 quality X actually published

We do not upscale. Buttons match the variants on the post: 1080p when the uploader shipped it, otherwise 720p or lower. That is why a phone clip may stop at 720p while a live replay can list 1080p. Choose a smaller file when you only need it on mobile.

Built for saving a clip, not a feed

  • Keep a tutorial

Save a public how-to or product demo before the account deletes it.

  • Archive your own live

Grab your finished broadcast as MP4 if you streamed from the X app.

  • Offline GIF or still

Download a reaction GIF or the original photo attached to a tweet.

Twitter video downloader FAQ

How do I download a Twitter video as MP4?
Copy the tweet link (Share → Copy link), paste it on TwitterDownloaderX, then choose an MP4 quality. No extension and no account.
Does this Twitter downloader add a watermark?
No. You get the file X already encoded. We do not stamp a logo on the picture.
Can I download an X live?
Yes for public broadcasts. Watch while it is live. After it ends, use the quality buttons to save the replay as MP4 when X still hosts it.
Is TwitterDownloaderX free?
Yes. Extracting public posts is free. History stays in your browser on this device.
Do you keep the videos?
No. The file is proxied from X’s CDN to you. We do not host a media library.
Why is there no 4K button?
X rarely publishes 4K tweet video. We only list sizes that exist on that post, often up to 1080p.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. It is a website: paste the link in Safari or Chrome. On iOS, use Share → Save Video after the MP4 download finishes.
Private or protected tweets?
No. If you cannot open the post logged out, the downloader cannot see it either.

TwitterDownloaderX does not unlock protected accounts, age-gated media, or deleted tweets. It is a helper around public X links. You are responsible for copyright and X’s terms — save your own work, or content you have permission to keep.
