Twitter live download, after the stream ends
A live on X is not a normal tweet video. While it is running you can watch it here. When the host stops, TwitterDownloaderX looks up the replay and lists MP4-ready qualities (often 1080p, 720p, 360p, 240p). Long broadcasts take longer to save because the stream is remuxed into a single MP4. If the live was private, deleted, or never given a replay, there is nothing to download — same limit as the public page on X.

We do not upscale. Buttons match the variants on the post: 1080p when the uploader shipped it, otherwise 720p or lower. That is why a phone clip may stop at 720p while a live replay can list 1080p. Choose a smaller file when you only need it on mobile.
Quality at a glance
We list only the renditions X has for that post, highest first. At the time of writing, a typical public video looks like this. What you actually get always depends on the original upload.

We never upscale or re-encode video: each button is a rendition X already created. If the top button says 720p, that post has no higher version. Results depend on the original upload, and X can change how it encodes video at any time.
Supported link formats
Paste the link exactly as X gives it to you. The parser only needs the numeric post ID, so tracking parameters and trailing /video/1 or /photo/1 segments are ignored.

Profile pages, search results, lists, communities and X Spaces links are not post links, so they won't return a file.
Where the file is saved
The download is a normal browser download, so it lands wherever your browser keeps files. Here is where to look on each device.
iPhone and iPad
Safari puts the MP4 in Files → Downloads (tap the download arrow in the address bar to see it). To put a video in Photos, open it in Files, tap Share, then Save Video.
Android
Chrome saves to the Download folder. Open it from the Files app (Files by Google or your phone's file manager) or from Chrome's menu → Downloads. Most gallery apps pick up videos from there automatically.
Windows
Files go to the Downloads folder in your user profile (C:\Users\you\Downloads) unless you changed it. Press Ctrl+J in Chrome or Edge to open the downloads list.
Mac
Safari, Chrome and Firefox save to the Downloads folder in your home folder, which is also in the Dock. Press Option+Command+L in Safari or Shift+Command+J in Chrome to see recent downloads.
Files are named after the account and post ID and quality (for example user_1234567890_720p.mp4) so they're easy to find later.
What we can't download
TwitterDownloaderX reads only what X shows to a logged-out visitor. It does not sign in, does not use your account, and does not get around any restriction.
Protected (private) accounts
Posts from accounts with the lock icon are only visible to approved followers. We return a 'private' error instead of a file.
Deleted or unavailable posts
If the post was deleted, or the account is suspended or deactivated, there is no media left to fetch.
Sensitive or age-restricted media
When X only shows media to logged-in users who confirmed their age, we don't bypass that gate, so the post may come back with no media.
X Spaces audio
Spaces links are recognized but not supported yet. They are audio rooms, not video posts.
Lives that are still running
You can watch a live broadcast here while it runs, but the MP4 download only appears once X publishes the replay.
Videos hosted elsewhere
A post that links to YouTube or another site doesn't contain X media. Open the original site instead.

Errors & fixes
- “The source is temporarily unavailable. Try again in a moment.”The one error that is usually temporary: X timed out, refused a session, or changed its data. What happens behind the scenes and when to retry.

How do I download a Twitter video as MP4?
Copy the tweet link (Share → Copy link), paste it on TwitterDownloaderX, then choose an MP4 quality. No extension and no account.
Does this Twitter downloader add a watermark?
No. You get the file X already encoded. We do not stamp a logo on the picture.
Can I download an X live?
Yes for public broadcasts. Watch while it is live. After it ends, use the quality buttons to save the replay as MP4 when X still hosts it.
Is TwitterDownloaderX free?
Yes. Extracting public posts is free. History stays in your browser on this device.
Do you keep the videos?
No. The file is proxied from X’s CDN to you. We do not host a media library.
Why is there no 4K button?
X rarely publishes 4K tweet video. We only list sizes that exist on that post, often up to 1080p.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. It is a website: paste the link in Safari or Chrome. On iOS, use Share → Save Video after the MP4 download finishes.
Private or protected tweets?
No. If you cannot open the post logged out, the downloader cannot see it either.
Which link formats does the downloader accept?
Post links on x.com, twitter.com, www. and mobile.twitter.com, including /i/web/status/ links and links with extras like ?s=20, ?t=… or /video/1 at the end. It also accepts t.co short links, live broadcast links (/i/broadcasts/…), fxtwitter/vxtwitter/fixupx links, and a bare numeric post ID.
Can I download X Spaces audio?
Not yet. Spaces links (/i/spaces/…) are recognized but rejected with a clear message, because Spaces are audio-only rooms rather than video posts. Live video broadcasts are supported.
Where is the downloaded file saved?
Wherever your browser saves downloads: the Downloads folder on Windows and Mac, the Download folder (Files app) on Android, and the Downloads folder in the Files app on iPhone, from where you can move a video into Photos with Share → Save Video.
Public posts only
TwitterDownloaderX does not unlock protected accounts, age-gated media, or deleted tweets. It is a helper around public X links. You are responsible for copyright and X’s terms — save your own work, or content you have permission to keep.
