Fixes, in the order worth trying
Most failures come from the link or the post, not the tool. Run through these checks — each takes a few seconds.
Download only content you own or have permission to use. Public posts only; we store no videos. Responsible use
No extension and no login. Copy a public X link, paste it above, then save the MP4 X already encoded.
Open the tweet or live. Tap Share (or the three dots), then Copy link. Extra bits like ?s=20 are fine — we read the post id.

Drop the URL in the field on this page and press Extract. Public videos, GIFs, photos and lives are read the same way.
Choose 1080p, 720p or a lighter MP4. Or save just the soundtrack as MP3. Lives can be watched first; replay buttons appear when they end.
If Extract finds nothing, the post is private, deleted, or not public media. Open the same link logged out on X to check.
1. Use the post’s own link. It must contain /status/ and a number, like x.com/user/status/123…. A profile, a search page or a t.co link that doesn’t resolve won’t work. Open the post, tap Share, Copy link.
2. Check the post is public. Posts from protected accounts, deleted posts and some age-restricted or sensitive-media posts can’t be read without being logged in — if you can’t open it in a private browser window, neither can this tool.
3. Live broadcasts must be finished. A stream that’s still running has no replay file yet. Once the host ends it and X publishes the recording, the replay buttons appear.
4. Retry if you see “The source is temporarily unavailable”. X doesn’t always hand over the media on the first try. Wait a minute and press Extract again, or switch network (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
5. Does the post have a video? A text-only or photo-only post has no MP4 — photos are listed as images, and a GIF downloads as a looping MP4.
6. Still stuck? Turn off ad-blockers or a VPN for this page, or try another browser. If one specific link keeps failing, email contact@twitterdownloaderx.com with the link.

The post is deleted, private or from a protected account, or the link isn’t a post link. Open the same link in a private browser window — if X asks you to log in, so would this tool.
No. It reads public media only, and X can change how it serves media at any time, which can break extraction briefly.
Test the same link on another network or browser. If it works there, it’s your network or an extension; if it fails everywhere, the post itself isn’t downloadable.
