Disclosure: TwitterDownloaderX is our own site, written and run by Karim. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any service compared here, or by X Corp. Product names are used only to identify the services. Every comparison is based on what we could see on the public pages on the visit date shown, and services change often.
SaveTwitter.net shows up in searches in many countries, and the reason is easy to spot as soon as you open its language menu. When we visited on October 14, 2026, the site declared 30 languages, from Vietnamese and Arabic to Hebrew, Persian, Greek, Norwegian and Finnish. No other downloader we compared came close.
This page compares SaveTwitter with TwitterDownloaderX, the downloader we run. Because language coverage is SaveTwitter's defining strength, that is where we start.
Thirty languages: who benefits
The full list in SaveTwitter's menu and hreflang tags was: English, Vietnamese, Arabic, Czech, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Malay, Hungarian, Dutch, Greek, Hebrew, Persian, Norwegian, Swedish and Finnish.
For many people that is the whole story. If you read Hindi or Persian and struggle with English instructions, a site that speaks your language is simply easier, especially for the confusing part, which is usually finding the file on your phone afterwards.
TwitterDownloaderX is indexed in English only. We have Arabic and French drafts, but we keep them hidden from search engines until each has been written and checked by a person rather than produced in bulk. We think that is the right way to build a multilingual site, but it means that today, for anyone outside English, SaveTwitter is the more accessible choice.
What each site lets you save
Both sites handle the four everyday media types. SaveTwitter has separate pages for MP3, GIF and image downloads; we handle all of them from one box.
| Media | SaveTwitter.net | TwitterDownloaderX |
|---|---|---|
| Video (MP4) | Yes, you "select the video quality" | Yes, every rendition X stores, labelled |
| Audio (MP3) | Yes, "Download MP3" button | Yes, converted in your browser |
| GIF | Yes, as MP4 | Yes, as MP4 |
| Images | Yes, separate image page | Yes, original size |
| Live broadcast replays | Not mentioned | Yes |
| Recent downloads list | No | Last 12, stored in your browser |
About "2K, 4K, 8K"
SaveTwitter's homepage says it can download "Full HD, 1080p, 2K, 4K, 8K". We could not verify that. A downloader can only hand you renditions that X itself stores, and the source quality is set by whoever uploaded the post. TwitterDownloaderX shows you exactly the renditions X returns, which in normal use top out at 1080p. If a higher figure matters to you, check the resolution of the saved file in your video player. Our HD guide explains how.
Apps and shortcuts
SaveTwitter promotes an Android app on Google Play ("Very easy to use - Quick - HD video quality"). The Play Store listing it links to has a package name that suggests a general-purpose saver; we did not install or test it.
It also offers a URL trick: add "x2" in front of "twitter.com" in a post link to jump to the download. That is a handy shortcut if you are on a desktop browser.
TwitterDownloaderX has no app. Our shortcut is a bookmarklet that opens the downloader with the current post filled in.
Design, ads and weight
On the visit date SaveTwitter's English page was light: about 29 KB of HTML and 4 script files, including Google AdSense and Cloudflare's Rocket Loader. We counted two AdSense ad slots in the HTML. Ours was about 43 KB with 2 script files. Our page carries more text: guides, an FAQ and explanations of each quality.
| SaveTwitter.net (English page) | TwitterDownloaderX | |
|---|---|---|
| HTML size | about 29 KB | about 43 KB |
| Script files | 4 | 2 |
| Ad slots in the HTML | 2 (Google AdSense) | 0 fixed slots; AdSense script on English pages |
| Pop-up or push ad networks found | None | None |
| Sign-up | Not required | Not required |
| Languages | 30 | 1 indexed |
SaveTwitter's privacy policy describes Google AdSense and its DART cookie, and says ad partners may set cookies to recognise your computer. Ours names Google AdSense, Google Analytics and Cloudflare, and says pasted links and media are not kept after your request is served.
Depth per language
Here is the trade-off behind thirty languages. SaveTwitter's English homepage had about 870 words of text, and the localised versions appear to follow the same structure with a handful of pages each, around 120 URLs in its sitemap overall when we last checked. That keeps the essentials available in every language, but each version is short.
Our approach is the other way around: fewer pages, each written to answer a specific problem. For example, we have dedicated pages for videos with no sound, files that won't play and the iPhone Files vs Photos question. Neither approach is wrong. They serve different people.
Saving on a phone with either site
Most people who search for a downloader are on a phone, and that is where both sites give similar advice. SaveTwitter's FAQ says that on iPhone you should use Safari on iOS 13 or later, or the Documents app by Readdle on older versions, and that on a computer the file lands in your browser's Downloads folder.
Our device pages go into more detail. On iPhone, Safari saves to the Files app first, and you then use the share sheet to move a video into Photos; our iPhone guide walks through it with each tap. On Android, the file normally goes to Downloads, and some gallery apps take a moment to show it; the Android guide covers that. If you are sending a clip on WhatsApp or Telegram afterwards, picking a smaller quality before you download saves a re-compression step.
Where SaveTwitter is better
- Language coverage. Thirty languages, including several that few downloaders support, such as Hebrew, Persian, Greek, Hindi and the Nordic languages.
- Android app for frequent use on phones.
- The "x2" URL shortcut.
- A very light page.
- Separate tool pages for MP3, GIF and images, which some people find clearer.
Where TwitterDownloaderX is better
- Precise quality labels, including correct labels for vertical video.
- Live broadcast replays.
- MP3 made on your device.
- A local recent-downloads list.
- Detailed help in English for specific problems.
- No unverified quality claims: we only list renditions X actually returns.
Who should choose which
Choose SaveTwitter if you are more comfortable in a language other than English, especially one of the less common ones it supports, or if you want an Android app.
Choose TwitterDownloaderX if English is fine for you and you want accurate quality options, live replays, audio made on your own device, or detailed troubleshooting.
Frequently asked questions
Is SaveTwitter the same as TwitterDownloaderX?
No. They are unrelated sites run by different people. We run TwitterDownloaderX, and SaveTwitter's own footer notes that it is not affiliated with Twitter.
How many languages does SaveTwitter support?
On October 14, 2026 it listed 30 languages. TwitterDownloaderX is indexed in English only, with Arabic and French in progress.
Can SaveTwitter really download 8K Twitter videos?
Its homepage says so, but we could not verify it. Any downloader is limited to the renditions X stores, and we have not seen X return anything above 1080p in normal use. Check the resolution of the file you save.
Does SaveTwitter have an app?
It links to an Android app on Google Play. We did not test it. TwitterDownloaderX has no app.
Which is better for MP3?
Both offer MP3. TwitterDownloaderX converts the audio in your browser, so no audio file is made on a server; very long clips may be too large to convert that way.
